Brand
HP's networking business started in 1979 in Roseville, California, and HP filed the ProCurve trademark in 1998. That's the name on the older switches here, like the 2610 and 2810. HP bought 3Com in 2010 and began calling the division HP Networking that April, so switches launched after that, like the 2530 and 2920, carry the HP name. HP then bought Aruba Networks, a wireless company founded in 2002, in May 2015, and after HP split in two that November the switches became part of Hewlett Packard Enterprise's Aruba business. HPE's parts site now lists even the old HP models under the Aruba name. Home labs like these switches because several are fanless and they run a plain, well-documented command line. Check the J-number on the label, since it tells you exactly which switch you're looking at.
