MikroTik's Cloud Router Switch line began in 2013 with the CRS125, and the CRS326-24G-2S+RM followed in 2017. Wikipedia's MikroTik timeline calls it the company's first switch with a dual-core CPU and 512 MB of RAM, its first that could boot either SwOS or RouterOS, and its best seller. It has 24 gigabit ports and two SFP+ cages on a Marvell 98DX3236 switch chip, in a 1U case with no fan at all. Power comes from a 24 V adapter or passive PoE, and if both are connected it fails over between them. SwOS gives you a simple web-managed switch. RouterOS adds routing, and since v7.1 the switch chip can route IPv4 in hardware, which makes it a cheap way to learn inter-VLAN routing on real silicon. It's quiet enough to sit on a desk. Check which OS it boots and that the adapter and rack ears come with it.
Lab check
Should come with it
Check the listing photos against this list, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing piece should come off the price.
Early RouterOS 6.4x releases carried a string of CRS326 multicast and forwarding fixes, so update an old unit before judging it. Otherwise most trouble is the previous owner's config and a missing adapter.

Buying guide
We'd buy monsieurlahey's used CRS326 at $106 delivered, whose photo shows the 24 V adapter, both rack ears and Cloud Router Switch printed on the front, or superb-referb's open-box one at $140. There are at least 30 for sale and most are new stock, so the $210–360 band is really a new-unit price. US dealers ask $208–260 delivered and imports from Europe, China and the UAE $231–413, while used and open-box ones run $106–300. It's fanless and silent, dual-boots RouterOS or SwOS and keeps its Level 5 license on resale, so check the label says CRS326-24G-2S+RM (the CSS326 is a different model that looks alike) and that the adapter and ears are in the photos. Skip cybertrading_gmbh's at $433 delivered, a VAT-inclusive business listing from Germany with $167 shipping.
